NORDCARGO is a company of the Ferrovie Nord Milano Group dedicated to the international transport of goods by rail. Young and innovative, NORDCARGO was the first to exploit the opportunities resulting from the rail transport liberalisation in Italy and soon imposed itself as a competitive partner of quality in the european market. NORDCARGO manages a consolidated network of traffics from Italy to north European destinations today, always guaranteeing complete customized services.

NORDCARGO was established on August the 1st 2003 after the separation of the Cargo Business Unit from the group Ferrovie Nord Milano SpA. The most important private Italian enterprise operating in the transport and mobility field in the Lombardy Region was founded in 1877. The Group has been dedicated to developing a policy apt to broaden and differentiate its activities over the past years thus becoming a multi-utility company currently operating also in the sectors of Engineering (transport and infrastructures, with FNMI), Information Technology (Nordcom), Air transport services (Avio Nord) and Energy (Nord Energia). First to obtain the safety certificate for RFI infrastructure, Ferrovie Nord began its activity in the international cargo sector with the Cargo Business Unit in September 2001. The positive results achieved in less than 2 years brought to the foundation of NORDCARGO in 2003, a new associated company to which the Group granted the flexibility and dynamism necessary to be competitive in the international cargo sector. Though young, NORDCARGO is a well known reality in the European freight sector that manages more than 126 trains a week nowadays. NORDCARGO is supporting major investments in technology, productive capacities and human resources to increase the development of the company.
